ABOUT ANDREA

(b. 1984) Rochester, New York, based artist, Andrea Durfee, pulls on her background as an art therapist to reflect on the connection between our inner and outer worlds in relation to each other. Creating in watercolor, acrylic, ceramic and animation, her current work fuses landscape, flora and fauna with the human figure.

The human experience can so often feel isolating and disconnected. My work seeks to awaken wonder, reflection, and universal connectivity through vibrant soothing imagery. Whether sweeping landscapes embedded with figures, or intimate scenes of quiet moments, I encourage the viewer to recognize the sacred within themselves, their relationships and the earth. These works are an offering of land in which one can take a quiet walk, find light, and connect.
